Claims

A. Please call 1-800-683-ATIC (2842) extension 455. Please have the following information available in order to expedite this process: insured name, driver, policy number, insured’s vehicle identification number/year/make.

Be prepared to mail any required information, accident reports and/or photographs to: Processing Center 5 Broadway, Freeport New York 11520, email: firstreports@american-transit.com or fax 1-212-857-8254.

If required information is not provided in a timely manner, further investigation may be necessary and may result in delayed claim processing.

A. Complete a “Form 5” claim form. We will schedule an appointment for an inspection, once the claim inspection is complete and all documents (Form 5, Estimate, Insured’s MV104, and Police Report) are received, your claim will be reviewed by an examiner and a decision will be mailed to you within 10 business days.
Forms

A. Your body shop will need to work directly with ATIC’s in-house appraisers to address any additional loss-related damages.

A. Obtaining a rental car is your responsibility, ATIC does not accept direct billing. We will reimburse you $28.00 per day based on the repair time indicated on our estimate.

A. If you must store your vehicle we will reimburse you $15.00 per day, not to exceed 30 days.
• If your vehicle is a total loss, not repairable, please contact us immediately, as storage will not be honored after you are informed your vehicle is a total loss.
• Please note, payment of storage fees are contingent on the percentage of negligence that is determined by the adjuster handling the claim.

A. Take six photographs of your vehicle at a reasonable distance showing front, rear, left side, right side, vehicle identification number (VIN) and odometer so that we can evaluate your vehicle.
• Do not authorize anyone to store your vehicle with the intention that ATIC will cover storage fees.
• If storage fees are approved, they will be paid for at the time of settlement.

A. If you received an offer and returned the release to ATIC, third party property damage claim payments will be issued within 5 business days of receipt of the signed and notarized release form.

A covered medical expense is necessary medical, hospital, surgical, nursing, dental, ambulance, x-ray, prescription drug, prosthetic services, psychiatric, physical and occupational therapy and rehabilitation, remedial care, and treatment rendered in accordance with a method of healing recognized by the laws of New York and any other professional health services.

Cash and Collections

A. Payments are generally made through the approved broker, check and ACH debit are acceptable forms of payment. Cash is NEVER accepted at any ATIC office.

A. The notice of cancellation must be paid in full to avoid the cancellation of the policy.

A. No, once a payment is late the process of cancellation for non-payment will begin.
